The Jat embroidered pillow cushion is handmade by women of a tribe in Kutch, Dhaneta Jat embroidery has closely stitched patterns that completely cover the cloth. Dense threadwork and mirror work are a signature of this embroidery. The beauty of Jat embroidery lies in the fact that it completely plasters the base cloth making it invisible. The women take pride in the fact that their stitches outlive the cloth on which they are sewn hence these pieces of art are guaranteed to be heirlooms for the family.

The Khuditebha embroideries are done by communities living on the Banni grassland tract on the edge of The Great Rann of Kutch. The identifying feature of their handwork is a simple running stitch interspersed with small diamond motifs that may or may not be filled.
