EMA is a Fair Trade Organization which operates out of India, and has been in the Fair Trade business for 33 years. Their chief concern has been the uplift of the economically challenged, the physically challenged, women, the minority communities through its own Development Center. This not only gives the poor artisans and employees a livelihood, but showcases their talent in craftsmanship internationally. That has helped them to earn their well-deserved dignity as well.
There are 96 different artisans working with EMA and they are a member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WTFO).
From the beginning in 1977, EMA has worked in education, improvement of jobs, environment, women empowerment and employing the marginalized, the minorities and physically challenged. They have initiated several activities like stipends for the poor and deserving students in the local area, distributing school textbooks, vocational training, repair or primary school buildings and creation of water resources.
