If a debit card or check card is used to make a purchase at Sitara Collections and the purchase is not accepted for any reason, please be aware that most banks will continue to hold the 'authorized' funds (counting against the account balance until the authorization clears) even if the order is not accepted. The most common reason for a failed transaction is that the billing address entered does not match the billing address for the debit/check/credit card being used for payment. Sitara Collections uses an Address Verification System (AVS) that will reject any transaction for a billing address mismatch for security measures. Sitara Collections does not have the capability nor is it obligated to release the bank's temporary hold of authorized funds. Since Sitara Collections does not have the capability to release the bank's temporary hold of funds, Sitara Collections cannot be held responsible for the policies of the customer's banking institution regarding the holding of authorized funds. Unless you received an order confirmation, we did not charge your card. If your credit card was declined, you may see pending transactions for each attempt to submit payment. The pending transaction will clear up within three to five business days, depending on your bank, and will never turn into a charge. Sitara Collections metal jewelry is handmade using either sterling silver or 14KT gold plate over brass. We also have pieces that have 14KT gold over sterling silver, as well as fashion jewelry made out of brass or faux gemstones. We have provided the materials used in the making of our jewelry in the details section for each item, so you can decide if the item is right for you. We use faceted and cab stones as well as various man-made stones and different variety of Hydro Glass. All jewelry on this site is as per international standards and does not contain Nickel, Cadmium or Lead. Many of our pieces also come with an anti-tarnish plating on them to keep the silver looking fresh longer.

Gold-Plated Brass:The base metal of this jewelry is Brass, which is an alloy of Copper and Zinc. The pieces are then 14k Gold plated. Our gold-plated brass jewelry is lead-free and nickel free. Our gemstones are semi-precious gemstones unless noted otherwise.
The Sterling Silver used is all 92.5% silver. Our styles range from a high-finish to matte and slightly oxidized, depending on the style. Some silver styles are brass (such as our cuffs) and have 20 mils of Silver plating, and will be noted under the metal on the detail page. All of our sterling silver and gold-plated sterling silver is marked with the 925 symbol.

We do our best to source stones that are ethically mined. Most of the stones in our collection come from India and Brazil. All of our jewelry is fair trade, made for us by our artisan producer groups.

All of Sitara Collections jewelry is handmade and assembled/finished in India, all cast pieces are made in India. We do not buy from China. The only items in our collection not from India include our leather bracelets from Indonesia and fashion bracelets from Guatemala.NickelWe do not add Nickel to Sitara Collections Jewelry, however there can be trace amounts in some of the metals we use in our production which could lead to low levels being present in some of our pieces. These levels are tested regularly to ensure they are low enough that most people will not have a reaction. A small number of people who are hypersensitive may suffer a reaction.
Many factors can influence the condition of jewelry. Therefore you should make sure that your jewelry is properly cleaned, repaired and stored. Take care to avoid extreme humidity or heat as this may cause tarnishing. This will keep them looking their best.
Please follow these steps to ensure your beautiful jewelry lasts a lifetime. Wearing Silver Jewelry will naturally tarnish over time. Always protect your jewelry from knocks, scratches, chemicals, sunlight and heat/cold to minimize these effects.We recommend removing jewelry when you shower and particularly when on the beach, in the sea or in chlorinated water.Avoid spraying perfume or applying creams directly onto your jewelry.Keep away from extreme temperatures, humidity and sunlight, and avoid wearing your jewelry when using bleach.
To protect your jewelry, pieces should be individually placed in a pouch or within a soft lined box to stop them being scratched or tangled. Ideally store your jewelry in a dark, cool and dry place, and try to keep pieces apart, so that they don't rub together or tangle up.CleaningMetal -Using a soft, lint free cloth is an effective way to keep silver, 18ct yellow gold vermeil jewelry looking shiny and lustrous. A silver cleaner can also be used to clean sterling silver pieces. Ideally, store silver pieces in an airtight bag to help reduce tarnishing. Do not use tissue paper or paper towels to clean metal as they can cause scratching.
Since many gemstones are quite delicate, hot water, harsh chemicals and cleaners should be avoided at all times. We advise cleaning your semi-precious gemstones with a clean, soft, damp cloth after wearing. Very porous stones such as turquoise should be cleaned using an untreated, dry, soft cloth only. Do not use tissue paper or paper towels to clean gemstones as they can cause scratching.
If unhappy for any reason, email us for a pre-paid USPS return label so you can easily send back your purchase.
